Thoracic Oncology Health Services Research T32 Trainee
The Department of Thoracic Surgery and the Section of Surgical Sciences at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a 2-year trainee interested in Health Services Research funded by the NIH. Stipends for living expenses and health allowance are provided, along with a small budget for supplies, travel, and research expenses. Trainee Expectations: Trainees are expected to be committed to full-time clinical research training (40 hours/week) with a two-year commitment. No clinical responsibility will be expected of the trainees. Trainees are expected attend regularly scheduled seminars and journal clubs, complete training in Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR), and provide annual progress reports during and after the period of support. Eligible applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D., must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States, and must be a categorical general surgery resident in an ACGME surgical training program. Applicants will be integrated into the TREAT lung cancer program (https://www.vumc.org/treat-lung-cancer-program/) and may have the opportunity to pursue a Masters of Public Health degree.
