The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC) at the University of Miami announces openings for the Research Training Program in Surgical Oncology, funded by the National Cancer Institute's T32 Training Grant Award. Fellowships are 2‐3 years in duration.
The purpose is to train independent investigators who are interested in surgical oncology research in the areas of cancer biology, molecular therapeutics, tumor immunology, biomedical engineering, health disparities, population health, clinical trial design/implementation, outcomes and health services research.
A rigorous selection criteria will be used to identify candidates likely to be successful in a career as an independent investigator. The training environment will enable Fellows to work directly with preeminent T32 Faculty mentors while engaging in a number of formal activities of the SCCC.
We are currently recruiting candidates for two opens slots to begin July 1, 2021.
Application Deadline: November 1, 2020
Fellows will:
• Work under the direction of a faculty mentor for 24 months.
• Develop research projects based upon his/her individual mentor research interests & expertise
• Present their research through abstracts, poster sessions, peer-reviewed publications, manuscripts & grant applications.
• Develop relevant skills in research
• Follow Individual Development Plans
• Participate in mentor/ mentee meetings
