Qualifications / Education: This is a 2-year post-doctoral research experience. MD or equivalent degree completion required. Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the US to be eligible for funding. Description: The University of Wisconsin Surgical Oncology Research Training Program is designed to provide training in the conduct of basic, translational, and health services surgical oncology research. The program provides experience in the design, organization, conduct, analyses, and publication of interdisciplinary research to help develop leaders in academic surgical oncology research. Post-doctoral fellows accepted into the Surgical Oncology Research Training Program engage in a mentored research experience which is complemented by a curriculum including principles of clinical trials, research design, management, ethics, and data analysis. The training program will foster the development of knowledge, competence, skills, professional attitudes, and experience required for successful academic careers. Trainees will obtain a knowledge base in six core competency domains: • Biostatics and study design • Ethics • Scientific Writing • Career Development and Leadership • Communication of Research Findings • Basic, Translational, and Clinical Surgical Oncology Research
