TWO 1 year Positions Available from July 2022: Surgery Chief Resident in Quality and Safety (CRQS) Location: Richmond VA Surgery Department. The Surgical CRQS is a one year fully funded education and clinical curriculum structured around a combination of formal training in quality management and improvement, direct participation in institutional quality and patient safety activities including VASQIP, and implementation of systems redesign projects. IRB-approved research projects & presentations/publications are expected. Leadership, teaching, and problem-solving skills will be developed as part of the curriculum including Lean Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, and other similar projects. Clinical moonlighting opportunity available. Requirements for candidate: • US Citizen • Must be working within an ACGME approved surgery training program • Should have completed 2 years of training in a surgical specialty. (Preliminary and PGY1 residents require waiver approval.)
