Position Summary
Reports directly to the Senior Program Coordinator, Program Director and Division Chief. Under direction of the program administration, the Program Coordinator (PC) is responsible for all activities related to the orderly running of the general surgery residency program. The PC will be responsible for all clerical and administrative aspects as assigned for one ACGME-accredited residency program and three non- accredited fellowship programs, from initial recruitment through graduation and any postgrad requirements.
Responsibilities
Coordinator will maintain program calendar, including conference schedules and attendance, monitoring duty hours, distributing monthly and weekly academic announcements, schedule meetings, applicant interviews and assign evaluations.
Additional tasks include coordination of monthly medical student rotations, observers/visitors and grand rounds guest speaker itineraries, travel requests, preparation of invoices and expenses for review, approval and submission.
Will manage all new resident and fellow appointments and reappointments at NYP and CU.
Responsible for all onboarding tasks including licensure & credentialing.
Will assist with planning ACGME site visits, program reviews and board requirements necessary to maintain full accreditation status.
Liaise with NYP GME Office, Department of Surgery Academic & HR Office, and other Administrative offices as needed.
The Coordinator will work collaboratively with faculty, departmental administrators and staff.
