Research Fellowship in Surgical Oncology
We are looking to recruit an exceptional general surgery resident with a strong interest in surgical oncology for a two-year research fellowship position to start July 1, 2019. The fellowship is designed to train surgical residents in the conduct of basic, translational, and clinical surgical oncology hypothesis-based research. We will provide a comprehensive research opportunity including hands-on experience working in a federally-funded tumor immunology laboratory and in the completion of clinical research projects. The successful applicant will be guided through all aspects of the conduct of research including generating hypotheses, developing a research plan, troubleshooting experiments, analyzing data, as well as publication and presentation of results. There will be several opportunities for presentations at national and regional meetings. We are eager to mentor a motivated, focused, and driven young surgeon who has promise for a successful career as a leader in academic surgery.
