A postdoctoral research associate is needed for research on large animal (porcine) models in a federally-funded laboratory within the Department of Surgery. Research topics include pancreatic cancer, limb ischemia, regenerative technologies, traumatic hemorrhage, and biomaterials. The individual will perform surgical procedures on experimental swine (and some rodent) subjects according to institutionally-approved protocols. The individual also will help with data management, data interpretation and analysis, preparation of manuscripts and grants, animal husbandry, schedule management, maintenance of compliance with regulatory entities, and equipment/supply acquisition. The individual will work alongside other researchers who have expertise in cellular and molecular biology, biologics, biomaterials, and other relevant areas. Applicants to this position must have an MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree, and have one or more years of postgraduate surgical residency training.
