Build a surgery residency program from the ground up in Texas Midland Memorial Hospital and Medical Center Hospital (Odessa) are joining with Texas Tech University Health Science Center of the Permian Basin to establish a new general surgery residency program. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced or an aspiring program director to build a program from the ground up. Candidates for the position of Program Director must have current certification by the American Board of Surgery and must have at least three to five years of recent experience as program director, associate director or core faculty member in an ACGME-accredited general surgery program. Candidates should have established track records in clinical surgery, resident education and administration as well as ongoing scholarly productivity, including peer-reviewed publications. Candidates must have or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas. Responsibilities of the selected candidate will include program development, securing program accreditation, ongoing resident education, faculty development and scholarly activity and engagement with the surgical community and hospital administrators. Financial compensation will be competitive. The start date is negotiable, but the candidate must be available on or before 1 July 2021.
