Funded Transplant Surgery Research Fellowship
compensated
The Columbia University Transplant Surgery Program together with the Columbia Center for Translational Immunology are offering a 2-year NIH-funded research position for a surgery resident. The laboratory studies immunology in our large cohort of transplant recipients and also in various large animal transplant models (primate and human). Fellows can expect to gain significant surgical experience in our animal models (including kidney, intestine, and multivisceral transplants), broad understanding of transplant immunology, and exposure to several clinical and research leaders in the field of transplantation. Immunology background and basic science benchwork experience (cell cultures, ELISA, PCR, flow cytometry) are helpful but not mandatory. Prefer applicants who have completed at least PGY2-level surgical training. Start date flexible.
