Provides ground level clinical data collection and analysis, support, coordination, and leadership for surgical and other resident and faculty-initiated research at a county hospital. The successful candidate will work primarily with surgical residents and faculty to produce published research projects and high-impact quality improvement products. The Clinical Research Coordinator is critical in the development and implementation of a productive research effort in the Department of Surgery and the Department of Graduate Medical Education. Responsibilities will include working with a data analyst and project manager to identify clinical data and implement projects requested by residents and faculty, meeting regularly with residents and faculty to keep those projects going and to maintain productivity, ensuring documentation of projects at all stages, performing basic statistical analysis on data, working with outside statisticians as required, working with outside study sites as required, presenting research data to the Program Director and Department of Surgery, preparing manuscripts for publication, and creating posters and PowerPoints for on-site meeting presentation. Qualifications include experience in clinical research in a hospital or university clinical department, experience in experimental design, and excellent organizational and written and oral communication skills.
