Burn Fellowship

Jacobi Medical Center
Date Posted: April 1, 2019

The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery / Stanley M. Levenson, MD Burn Center of Jacobi Medical Center is seeking burn fellows for the academic year beginning July 1, 2019. Jacobi Medical Center is the burn referral center for New York City Health and Hospitals and a major affiliate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Clinical responsibilities of the fellows include managing burn ICU patients, assisting in the O.R., staffing burn, plastics, and hand clinics, covering the emergency department, and teaching residents and medical students. Research is strongly encouraged and supported. As the burn service functions under the auspices of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, there necessarily is a heavy plastic and reconstructive surgical component to this comprehensive program. It is ideally suited for clinical post graduate trainees preparing for careers in plastic and reconstructive surgery or general surgery. Residents with no less than PGY I and II years in an ACGME accredited general surgery training program are welcome to apply. Board eligilibility in general surgery is a plus.
