fellowship
The Abdominal Transplant Surgery Fellowship at Loyola Medical Center is a two-year fellowship accredited by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS). We train one fellow every two years in order to provide a dedicated attention to the growth and academic development of the surgical candidate. At the end of the two years the individual will be certified in kidney and liver transplantation. Our fellows have the opportunity to participate in a high number of abdominal organ transplants and multi-organ procurements. Broad exposure to hepato-biliary surgery and participation in multi-disciplinary tumor board is also provided. The mission of our fellowship is to make available a comprehensive training that encompass a broad-based transplant preparation allowing individuals to be ready and competitive to a successful academic appointment.
