1 Year Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Positions (2 openings)

The Department of Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) has TWO openings for their 1-Year Surgical Critical Care Fellowship. IUSM Department of Surgery is home to two Level 1 Trauma Centers (Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital and IU Health Methodist Hospital) and provides an overwhelming experience in the management of surgical critical care patients. Trainees will spend three months in each of these hospitals in their Trauma Surgical Critical Care Units leading teams of mid-level IUSM Surgery and IUSM Anesthesia residents, alongside SICU advanced practice providers and IUSM Surgery Trauma/Acute Care Surgery Faculty. An additional three months in the IU Health University Hospital Surgical Critical Care Unit, learning to manage complex surgical and medical problems in critically ill surgical patients. The two remaining months will be spent leading a daytime Trauma Surgery service at Eskenazi Hospital and a nighttime Trauma Surgery service at Methodist Hospital Qualified Applicants must have completed at minimum 3 years of General Surgery Residency in an ACME-accredited residency program by June 2019.
