The Department of Surgery is seeking an Academic General Surgeon at the Professor or Associate Professor level to join our full-time General Surgery faculty and will assume the role of Residency Program Director. Responsibilities for this position include oversight and enrichment of the educational experience of residents and fellows and enhancement of the surgical clerkship. Additional fellowship training and/or board certification in a surgical sub-specialty is desired but not required.
The successful applicant will be able to collaborate with referring providers to develop a clinical surgical practice at our affiliate hospital(s) and display a strong interest in teaching General Surgery residents and students. Primary responsibilities include a mix of research, teaching, administration, and patient care within the spectrum of general and sub-specialty surgery and undergraduate/graduate surgical education.
Candidates should be graduates of an LCME-accredited US medical school, have completed an ACGME-accredited residency in general surgery, and be board-certified in General Surgery. Our program offers a very competitive compensation package and benefits. Academic rank and compensation are dependent on qualifications and experience.
