Transplant Research Fellowship

The transplant surgery research fellowship is designed to provide advanced training in transplant immunology for surgical residents who have completed at least two years of surgical residency in an ACGME accredited residency program. Georgetown University’s nationally and internationally prominent investigator transplant surgeons are experienced as mentors, collaborative, and possess a variety of funding (NIH, industry, foundational, etc) resulting in a research training environment which is highly supportive and provides unparalleled training for physician scientists. The overarching goal of the fellowship is to provide both basic science and clinical training to bridge the gap from bench top to bedside. We are searching for a highly motivated individual who want to commit to training at one of the premier facilities in the country. Duration This will be a 1 to two year (12 – 24 month) fellowship beginning July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019 or June 30, 2020. Candidates seeking a two year fellowship will be preferred. Prerequisite Training/Selection Criteria Applicants must be a graduate of an accredited medical school and enrolled in an ACGME approved (or equivalent) residency program and successfully completed at least PGY2. Applicants need to be eligible for a DC medical license which will allow them to moonlight
