Date Posted: May 6, 2019

Grand Strand Medical Center, a 369-bed acute care facility, has an opening for a PGY4 general surgery resident beginning July 1, 2019. Located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, our program offers excellent exposure to the entire breath of general surgery training. From emergency and trauma surgery (in the setting of a Level I Trauma center with 110,000 ED visits annually), to elective vascular and oncologic surgeries focusing on minimally invasive techniques, we provide tertiary care for the population living between Charleston, SC and Wilmington, NC. Approximately 80% of residents from our first 3 classes have decided to pursue fellowship, with all of them successfully matching into their fields of choice, such as: plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, and HPB. Additionally, the low cost of living, weather, and outdoor activities make Myrtle Beach a great place to live, work, and learn. Applicants must have completed their PGY1 through PGY3 training in an ACGME-accredited program to be considered, and must be in good standing in their current program.
