PGY-4 Surgery Categorical Position

University of California, San Diego
Date Posted: March 11, 2019

The University of California San Diego has an opening for a PGY 4 training position starting in July of 2019. The residency program graduates 7 residents per year, and offers a robust training environment with rotations at a busy tertiary care academic medical center, a Veteran's hospital, and a trauma center. Graduating residents in recent years have obtained top tier fellowships in surgical oncology, pediatric surgery, colorectal surgery, breast oncology, minimally invasive surgery, and vascular surgery. If not choosing to do a fellowship our grads have obtained competitive private practice positions through out the nation. The residency program is also home to one of the nations largest and most advanced simulation centers, the Center for the Future of surgery. This includes training access to the Da Vinci Xi and Si robotic platforms as well as a variety of endoscopic and laparoscopic simulators. We are an academically minded program, looking for someone to take advantage of this incredible opportunity to take their training to the next level.
