Outcomes Research Fellowship – Cardiac Surgery
Massachusetts General Hospital’s Division of Cardiac Surgery is offering a funded two-year onsite fellowship in surgical outcomes for surgical residents to pursue during their research years. Includes salary and benefits in accordance with PGY level and tuition at Harvard School of Public Health Master’s program.
Research fellows will spend two years conducting research and taking advanced degree courses at Harvard School of Public Health to earn a Masters. The advanced degree tuition will be fully funded, however each applicant is responsible for independent application and acceptance to the program.
The goal of the research fellowship is to help prepare residents for a successful career in academic surgery by developing an expertise in clinical outcomes research. Current initiatives include outcomes research in adult cardiac, congenital, thoracic surgery, and heart-lung transplantation.
Prior fellows have had very successful research experiences with numerous publications and presentations, including recent invited presentations at the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation, the Society of Thoracic Surgery, and the American Association of Thoracic Surgery.
