Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship
The Esophageal and Lung Institute at the Allegheny Health Network is offering three, one-year general surgery fellowship positions focused on minimally invasive and surgical techniques for esophageal and gastric diseases. The fellowship program will emphasize advanced endoscopic, laparoscopic, and video-assisted techniques used in the management of patients.
Our clinical philosophy is to provide individualized care to patients utilizing a multidisciplinary team approach. Therefore, we are seeking highly motivated clinicians to participate in the delivery of cross-disciplinary disease-based care. Fellows will attend weekly multidisciplinary conferences for esophageal/gastric and thoracic diseases. It is expected of each fellow to design, conduct and complete clinical research projects under the guidance of senior faculty members during their fellowship. Access to an onsite, state-of-the-art laboratory will be available to fellows if they wish to pursue bench research.
We expect a successful applicant to participate in the full range of esophageal endoscopic and surgical cases, learn the multidisciplinary management of esophageal and gastric diseases, and contribute to clinical research.
Who should apply:
- Surgical residents who are board eligible with an interest in advanced minimally invasive esophageal and foregut surgery and advanced endoscopic techniques
- General surgeons seeking to enhance their endoscopic and minimally invasive surgical skills
The Fellowship is offered to candidates who are board-certified or board eligible in General Surgery from a U.S. residency program. These positions are open to citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
