Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center
Date Posted: February 21, 2019

The Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Mastery in General Surgery Fellowship program is a one year program offered to those who are finishing or have finished an ACGME-accredited general surgery residency training program. We offer additional training in general surgery emphasizing mastery as a lifetime process. Experiences include emergency and elective general surgery including aspects of minimally invasive surgery, oncologic surgery and endocrine surgery. Experiences in surgical critical care, obstetrics/gynecology are also available. Practice settings include both academic and community locations. The aim of the program is to further prepare graduates for the successful practice of general surgery whether it be in private practice or academic medical center. The program is not designed to provide remediation but to provide an environment for the development and maturation of already excellent surgical skills. It is expected that graduates will be highly sought after by those recruiting general surgeons in the private and academic practice arenas.
