We are seeking a qualified General Surgery resident for a dedicated two-year Gastrointestinal Research Fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Texas, begining July 1,2109. The research fellowship is focused on providing state-of-the art interdisciplinary research training experiences for surgical residents interested in diseases of the GI tract, pancreas and liver. Fellows will gain experience on the conduct of basic and/or translational research, with the opportunity to earn a Masters Degree in Medical Science. Full-time stipends for these fellowship positions are supported by a National Cancer Institute T-32 training grant. Candidates must 1) hold a MD degree, or equivalent, 2) must have completed at least two post-graduate training years in an ACGME-accredited General Surgical Residency program, and 3) must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent residence at the time of appointment.
