2019-2020 burn fellowship
The Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine has an opening for 2019-2020 for a one-year fellowship in Burn and Reconstructive Surgery. The facilities include two independent burn centers: the Speedway Burn Center within Riley Hospital for Children, an 8 bed dedicated pediatric unit, and a new 15 bed adult burn unit at Eskenazi Hospital.
With burn admission totaling over 500 annually between both units, the trainee will acquire in-depth experience in the management of acute burns and burn reconstruction as well as critical care management. The fellowship includes the opportunity to assist in plastic surgery aesthetic and reconstructive procedures and will be directly involved with the plastic surgery residency program by attending lectures and conferences. The trainee will also be given the opportunity to participate in clinical research with a chance to present at the ABA.
Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years of general surgery training and must be able to obtain an Indiana Medical License prior to beginning fellowship.
